In My Speakers: Running Playlist Spring 2017

Every runner has their own music playlist comprised of songs that will motivate, keep themselves on pace, and keep them going strong until the finish line. My playlist is a mix of all 3. It changes from time to time, as I tend to add and remove songs depending on how hard I want to push myself as well as what kind of race is coming up in the near future. For example, when I ran the Philadelphia Marathon last November I had “Eye of the Tiger” blasting into my ears from mile 24 until the end. It was that boost I needed to get my tired legs through mile 26.  During the NYC Marathon, I didn’t really even listen to anything except for the spectators. I had my headphones in my ears (which you’ll see in all of those race photos) but the only song I played was Ace Frehley’s “New York Groove” (I’d say around mile 5 in Brooklyn). After that, the music was off for the remainder of the race. My current playlist has quite the variety, as you’ll see below;
